Improv
In this class you will learn the basics of Improvisational theater. You will learn to how to create a scene without a script, working with other people, using basic rules of Improvisation. You will learn the Eleven Commandments of Improv, basic storytelling and a lot of improv games.
Your grade will be based on three criteria:
Attendance 50% (of your grade)
You have to be here to learn. You will miss something anytime you miss class.
Participation 30%
You have to be willing to get up and participate.
There will be no grading on how good, funny, cleaver, interesting, etc.… you are. Just that you are willing to get up and give it a try every time.
Quizzes 20%
We will have a quiz at least once a week about the material we have covered that week. If you have been in class and participating these will be easy. If you miss a quiz or really blow it, you may retake a quiz to improve your score.
Extra Credit
You can earn extra credits several ways:
The amount of credit will be based on teacher discretion.
The grading scale is as follows:
A – 90 to 100%
B – 80 to 89%
C – 70 to 79%
D – 60 to 69%
I – 59% or lower
This class is supposed to be a fun way to earn an A. Come to class, participate, be supportive, learn something new and you will have a good experience in my class.

- Share an Improv game you researched with the class
- Write a paragraph report on an Improv TV show
